Lately we’ve been hearing around town that New York doesn’t need any fairs. Our city is already spoiled with the finest creations of humanity. That may be well and true, but there’s an unmatched energy during the two weeks the fairs roll into town. And let’s not pretend museums, galleries, and the culture sector don’t preen during this time. Just look at what’s on!
But, to us at least, what we’re keen to point out, the fairs bring the art world—and we really do mean the whole wide world—all to New York, to explore, discover, exchange and collect. That’s reason enough to keep this moment in May in our eyes.
There’s always a frenzy and a flurry during these weeks, so we aim to cut through the noise and point to what’s top of our lists; and we even called in a few New York art experts to weigh in, as well.
See you there. Where? Everywhere!
