London & Paris With Kami

I have lived in London for nearly 15 years and my career in the art world is even longer. In this time, the so called ‘Frieze week’ grew significantly in terms of its time span and variety of events it ecompasses. Over the years, in my different roles across Sotheby’s, Tate and the Royal Academy of Arts, I experienced the frenzy of scooping the best works for my collectors, negotiating discounts with galleries for institutional acquisitions, reviewing contracts in the Ruinhart bar or filling in for a museum director at a panel discussion.

As for Paris, each time I go - which is a 2h train journey from London - I find it utterly alluring and want to move there. I particularly love its juxtapositions; old and new, posh and punk, bistro and gourmet, ready-made and haute couture. Yet, such a density of of culture and chic is difficult to navigate so I have checked in with a few of my friends based there for recommendations.

Next month, I’ll be launching a newsletter - ‘On the Horizon’ - scooping most excirting and innovative creative projects at the intersection of philanthropy, arts and business. Do sign up here to say in the loop and meanwhile, come along as I explore London during Frieze week and Paris during Paris+ Art Basel.
